St. Andrew Volunteers at new Trinity Cafe location

Volunteers pray before serving at Trinity Cafe 2

Trinity Cafe, which serves hot meals to all who show up at the doors seven days a week since 2001, opened its second location on Monday, April 25 at 2202 Busch Boulevard (First Church of God). A dozen volunteers from St. Andrew participated to serve the guests as part of a new outreach ministry of the church.

Pastor Laurie Palmer said, “It was an extraordinary moment in the life of this congregation. We all came away feeling that we had gotten more than we gave.”

St. Andrew volunteers will continue to work with Trinity Cafe 2 as the new location establishes itself and builds a following. Given the need in Tampa, where up to 25% of children are food insecure according to Trinity Cafe staff, the new location is expected to serve the maximum number of guests that it is capable of handling on most days.

Be sure to read the Tampa Tribune article about the opening of Trinity Cafe 2.

St. Andrew will organize volunteers to serve on the first Tuesday of each month. Individuals are encouraged to sign up directly with Trinity Cafe on other days as well. For more information about how you can help with the St. Andrew outreach to Trinity Cafe 2, email hidden; JavaScript is required.
